Fury Meets Footwork

Furia Tanguera is a theatrical show that pairs the strength and elegance of Argentine tango with the energy of folklore traditions. You’ll see dancers and singers share the stage, with live percussive dance joining the tango and folk music.

The production follows the format of the traditional Casa de Tango shows in Buenos Aires and adds a traditional ballet folklorico. It explores the different moods of that city, and you move with it from whimsy and joy through regret and rage to hope. The dancers draw you into their embrace while the singers guide you through the emotions in between.

Partners in Rhythm

You’ll be watching a company built by two dancers, Romina Rodríguez-Crosta and Oscar Mansilla, who have both danced since childhood. They met in Buenos Aires while training under the master teachers Leandro Oliver and Laila Rezk.

During the pandemic, the pair joined the inaugural company of La Casa de Tango in Dubai. They relocated to Los Angeles in 2021 and drew a group of enthusiastic amateur students who wanted to learn traditional tango stage choreography. That group became the foundation of the company you’ll see on stage, which has since grown into a professional dance company.

Pull Up a Seat at the Family Table

Tango began as a way for immigrants from varied backgrounds to unite around a shared experience and to form relationships. Folklore gathers the dance and music traditions of rural Argentina, and it ties rural communities together while setting each region apart.

The company aims to build relationships with the communities it visits, and it does that through educational experiences and conversations with audience members after its shows. In the company’s words, “You become a part of our extended artistic family.”

The cast includes talent direct from Argentina.
