How the Tournament Works
You’ll be targeting crappie with a 5-fish limit and a 10-inch minimum size requirement. All fish must be alive at weigh-in, so keep your live well in top shape. Boats launch at 7:00 AM, and you need to be back at the ramp by the 3:00 PM weigh-in cutoff. Miss that window and you’re disqualified.
Your $40 entry fee comes in the form of a toy or gift donation that goes directly to SCARS (Saving Children and Reviving Souls), a local organization supporting Northwest Arkansas children. Add $15 to enter the big fish pot with a guaranteed $1,000 payout. All tournament winnings go 100% back to anglers, with payouts for 1st through 5th place.
Before You Launch
Registration opens at 5:30 AM at Hickory Creek Day Use Ramp, one of Beaver Lake’s most accessible launch points for Northwest Arkansas anglers. Both team members must sign release forms before you hit the water. If you’re running late, contact the tournament director and pay your entry fee before launch time, or you won’t be eligible to compete.
Safety regulations are strict across the board. Your life vest stays on while the boat is moving, and your kill switch must be attached whenever you’re underway. Standard Arkansas Game and Fish Commission laws apply, with zero tolerance for alcohol or drugs on the water. All measurements happen on a Golden Ruler to keep judging consistent.
This tournament brings together local sponsors and the Northwest Arkansas fishing community for a Friday on the water that supports children in your community through SCARS.
