Catch the Glow of the Beaver Moon on This Nighttime Hike
How often do you get to hike a well-known trail in a completely different light?

Pack Rat Outdoor Center is hosting a nighttime trek at Devil’s Den State Park, timed perfectly with the full Beaver Moon.
Join a guided 2-mile out-and-back trek along the Yellow Rock Loop to catch the glow of the moon. This is a laid-back evening designed for anyone who’s curious about what these well-traveled trails look like after dark, with plenty of time built in to relax at the overlook and take in the night sky. If you’re up for a nighttime adventure, here’s the rundown.

The group departs from the North parking lot at Pack Rat, so plan to arrive a few minutes early.
What to Know Before You Go
The Yellow Rock Loop is well-maintained and rated easy to moderate, but you’ll navigate rocky sections, walk along cliff ledges with scenic drop-offs, tackle a few steep inclines, and step over uneven terrain, all part of the Devil’s Den experience. The pace will be comfortable, making it accessible for most fitness levels. Space is limited to 15 participants, so you’ll want to sign up early.

- Water (required)
- Blanket, yoga mat, or portable chair for the overlook
- Camera, if you want to capture the moonlit views
- Constellation maps or stargazing apps
The Rules:
- Anyone under 18 needs a legal guardian present
- No alcohol
- Refunds aren’t available after the hike date, but you can transfer to another Full Moon Hike
