Puppets will come alive at this all-day celebration of puppetry, music, and creativity that’s been bringing families together for 17 years. Puppets in the Park features six hours of shows with puppeteers from Iowa, Missouri, and Texas performing stories like Little Red, Magic Fish, and Backyard Bugs, with local musicians Shaky Bugs, Papa Rap, and Candy Lee playing live music between performances. The event is also interactive, with kids making their own puppets at the art table and playing with them on little stages set up throughout the park.

Be sure to pack a picnic lunch and bring blankets or chairs. Stick around for the giant puppet parade at 5:15 PM, where massive puppets march through the trees in a finale that perfectly caps off a day of creativity and community. If weather doesn’t cooperate, the event will move to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

If Saturday isn’t enough puppet magic for you, the fun starts Friday night with Puppets in the Dark at the Fayetteville Library from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Then on Sunday, Bread and Puppet will perform at Gulley Park at 5:30 PM.

See you for an unforgettably fun weekend!
