Meet Matt Martin and modCV
Matt Martin has spent 20 years on guitar across a wide range of styles, from opening for platinum rapper DaBaby to performing in immersive audio-visual shows like Light Sound Dimension at The Momentary. You’ll find him collaborating regularly with DJs, producers, and other musicians around Northwest Arkansas, where he also plays in several local bands. For this show, he’s leaning into ambient guitar and electronic texture meant for slow, close listening.
modCV works with a self-built modular synthesizer rig, patching together analog oscillators and digital wavetables to create ambient progressions and house-leaning rhythms. His sound pulls from downtempo and synthwave, with sequenced beats layered in as the set develops. You can expect a mix of organic guitar tone and electronic texture that tracks with the pace of the Skyspace light show as it moves through sunset.

Who’s Behind the Series
Deep Listening Club is curated in partnership with KOBV Radio, a Bentonville-based non-profit station that mixes genres freely and keeps its programming rooted in what’s happening locally. Part of their mission is putting local artists in front of new audiences, and this show is a chance for you to see that mission play out.

Deep Listening Club happens roughly once a month, timed to the full moon, equinox, or solstice, so if this date doesn’t work for your schedule, another chance to catch the Skyspace light show with live music won’t be far off.
Matt talks about music as a healing force, a small reminder of the humanity we all share, and that idea is really what this whole series is about. Come sit in the Skyspace as the sky changes color, let the guitar and synths take over for an hour, and share the evening with whoever else shows up.
