Fayetteville Gets the First Look at This New Stage Adaptation of Pride & Prejudice
A story you already know is about to feel brand new. Theatre Squared (T2) is bringing a world premiere stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice to Fayetteville this spring, developed and performed right here in NWA.

This production was built from the ground up. Playwrights Amy Herzberg and Robert Ford adapted Austen’s novel directly for the T2 stage, and Herzberg is co-directing alongside Shana Gold. It’s a world premiere, meaning no other audience anywhere has seen this version before you do.
The production also grew out of a collaboration with the Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences Department of Theatre at the University of Arkansas, bringing in emerging talent and a creative energy that’s rooted in this community.
The Story, Reimagined
Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy are still at the center of it all, navigating social pressure, sharp wit, and a slow-burn attraction that neither of them planned for. The adaptation keeps what made Austen’s original so enduring while finding new angles to challenge and delight audiences.
