Goat Trails and Wine Pours Define This Northwest Arkansas Day Out
Pack goats with saddles and supplies strapped to their backs will lead you through the woods. It’s hiking with a twist, and it wraps up with wine.

What You Need to Know
The day kicks off at 9:30 AM at The MOTTO. The group departs at 10:00 AM and arrives at Devil’s Den State Park by 10:45 AM for the hike. At 2:15 PM, you’ll head to Sassafras Vineyard and Winery, arriving at 2:45 PM for wine tasting. The return trip leaves the winery at 4:15 PM, getting back to The MOTTO by 5:00 PM.

Wear athletic clothes and layers. Bring tennis shoes or hiking boots, sunscreen, and bug spray. Pack water, a sack lunch, and snacks for the day. Your ticket includes transportation, expert guides, and one drink. Guide’s tips and lunch are not included. The terrain includes mild trails and climbs.
Four-Legged Trail Guides
You’ll spend three miles exploring Devil’s Den with a group of pack goats from Snake Mountain Pack Goats leading the way. These goats come equipped with packs and saddles, and they steal the show. Along the route, you’ll learn about the local plants, wildlife, and natural history of the area.

Wine Down After the Hike
Once the hike wraps up, the group heads to Sassafras Winery for a tasting session. Sip on local wines, unwind with your fellow hikers, and swap stories from the trail.

Supporting a Good Cause
Snake Mountain Pack Goats is a nonprofit that helps veterans with disabilities and PTSD get outside more often with the support of pack goats. Every ticket purchased donates $25 to their mission.
