Movies in the Parks Brings Free Outdoor Films to Fayetteville Parks

Fayetteville is turning its parks into movie venues this summer, and all you need to bring is a blanket and something to eat. No theater, no fuss, just an open lawn, some good company, and a film playing as the sun goes down. The city has teamed up with the Arkansas Cinema Society to put together Movies in the Parks, a series of outdoor screenings running from June all the way into October.

Four more screenings follow through the summer and fall: Matilda on July 17, Holes on July 31 at Walker Park, Muppets Take Manhattan on August 21, and Scooby Doo on October 9 at the Upper Ramble. Locations for Matilda and Muppets Take Manhattan are still to be announced. Check the city’s website for updates.

Pack Like You Mean It

Bring a blanket, a lawn chair, and a picnic basket. Screenings are held outdoors, so the more comfortable you make your setup, the better the experience.
