Prairie Grove is going all out with the 9th Annual 2nd Saturday’s Christmas Parade of Lights, featuring a full day of holiday festivities that bring the whole community together. Whether you’re looking for a cozy afternoon of historic home tours or an evening watching the town light up for the season, this Saturday has something for everyone.

What Makes This Celebration Worth the Drive
Start your afternoon with the Tour of Homes, which runs from 12-4pm and is presented by the Prairie Grove Heritage Museum & Historical Society. You’ll get a peek inside beautifully decorated local homes that show off Prairie Grove’s historic character with holiday spirit. Tickets are $20 and available at Southern Mercantile, Daisies and Olives, Old School Vintage, and the Prairie Grove Heritage Museum.
Once the home tours wrap up, head downtown for the Cocoa Crawl from 4-6pm. The Prairie Grove Chamber of Commerce and downtown merchants are teaming up to keep you warm with hot cocoa as you explore the shops. Grab a $5 mug from participating merchants and use it as your ticket to sample different cocoa creations at various stops throughout downtown. It’s a great opportunity to knock out some holiday shopping while supporting Prairie Grove businesses.
The Christmas Parade of Lights rolls through at 6pm, featuring decorated floats, vintage cars, horses, and plenty of lights. Grab a spot along the curb and watch the procession. Trophies will be awarded for best decorated, most original, best lights, and best overall entries. After the parade, follow Santa’s sleigh to The American Legion at 120 S Neal Street for the Christmas Party. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there with games and refreshments provided by American Legion Post 146, making it easy to get that perfect photo op with the kids before calling it a night.
