Arkansas Music Week is bringing Fayetteville to life this September with a citywide mix of concerts, workshops, and community gatherings celebrating the state’s music culture and highlighting the role Fayetteville plays in nurturing that scene.
From a variety of talented performances to delicious food and drinks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Many events are free—from jam sessions at Kingfish to local singer-songwriters at Jammin Java happening throughout the week. You can also expect highlights like the all-star Last Waltz tribute at Walton Arts Center, and Melissa Carper’s nonprofit picnic rounds out the lineup.
At the heart of it all, Fayetteville becomes the first Arkansas city to host the Music Cities Convention, a global gathering that highlights how music drives culture and community. After the convention, there will be a free networking event at George’s Majestic Lounge on Sept. 16 for the Music Industry Meetup, where representatives from more than 20 Arkansas-based music organizations and businesses are expected to attend.
With so much happening across downtown, this is a chance to dive into the sound of Arkansas all week long. For the full schedule and details, head to downtownfay.org.
Let’s catch a show (or more). See you, NWA!
