Mrs. Doubtfire Hits the Walton Arts Center With Songs and Laughs
If you grew up quoting “It was a run-by fruiting” or perfecting your Scottish accent thanks to Robin Williams, the Mrs. Doubtfire musical is headed to Walton Arts Center this weekend. The stage adaptation brings the beloved 1993 film to life with songs, humor, and the same heart that made the original a classic.

A Story That Still Resonates
At its core, Mrs. Doubtfire tells the story of Daniel Hillard, an out-of-work actor who will do absolutely anything to spend time with his kids after a difficult divorce. His solution is to disguise himself as a Scottish nanny and apply to be their housekeeper. The musical captures all the humor and heart of the original film while adding songs and emotional depth that work well on stage.

Critics have praised the show across the board. Manchester Evening News calls it “wonderful, heart-warming, and laugh-out-loud funny,” while The Hollywood Reporter declares it “a feel-good, family-friendly comedy that delivers.” The show balances comedy with genuine emotion, reminding us that families come in all shapes and sizes.
Mix It Up Before the Show
Make it a full evening by adding on Walton Arts Center’s cocktail class for $45 before select performances. You’ll learn to mix two specialty cocktails from local mixologists while enjoying light appetizers from Fire and Lightning catering. The class includes recipes to take home, and you’ll still make it to your seat before curtain time. Don’t have show tickets? You can sign up for the cocktail experience on its own. You need to be 21 or older to participate.

Bring the kids for their first Broadway-style show or relive your favorite movie moments with friends. Helllooooo, Fayetteville.
