Cornhole for a Cause Returns With Toss for Hope in Lowell

Grab a partner and warm up your throwing arm. The bags fly fast, the trash talk flies faster, and by the end of the day you’ll have sore shoulders and a decent excuse to brag for a year. But the real reason teams show up has nothing to do with the trophy. Every toss at this tournament helps a neighbor fighting cancer.

A Tournament With Heart

Toss for Hope is an annual cornhole tournament benefiting Hope Cancer Resources, and you don’t need to be a ringer to join in. Team up with a partner and compete in either the Amateur or Competitive bracket, then spend your day chasing the trophy and a little bragging rights among friends.

If competing isn’t your thing, you can still get involved. Sponsorships are available for Patient, Caregiver, and Survivor teams, giving people directly affected by cancer the chance to compete without worrying about the cost. Every dollar raised stays local, going straight toward supporting cancer patients across Northwest Arkansas.

Remembering Greg Krisell

The tournament is held in memory of Greg Krisell, who passed away in 2019 after a battle with stage 4 cancer. His son, Jayson, describes him as tough but soft-hearted, the kind of dad who could correct you one minute and tell you he loved you the next. Jayson says his father taught him how to be a Christian man, a husband, and a father, lessons he carries with him still.

That spirit is what Toss for Hope keeps alive each year, a day where people touched by cancer find a little connection and encouragement amid the competition.

Why It Matters

Hope Cancer Resources provides cancer support and education throughout Northwest Arkansas, and proceeds from Toss for Hope go directly toward that mission. Sponsors get their names on event materials, t-shirts, banners, the website, and social media, with the option to add branded prizes or giveaways for participants.

Grab a spectator ticket, which includes food and beverages, and spend the day soaking up the competition from the sidelines. It’s a low-key way to show up for the cause even if cornhole isn’t your sport.

You don’t need tournament experience or a fancy setup to sign up. Round up a friend, a sibling, or your most competitive coworker and put your name in. Toss for Hope welcomes new teams every year, and this is your chance to be one of them.
