Why You Should Lace Up
The singletrack course at Kessler Mountain demands focus and footwork, but the payoff comes in views that make every step worthwhile. The terrain will keep you engaged from start to finish at either distance.
First-time trail runners will find the 5K offers a solid introduction to off-road racing without overwhelming you. For those ready to level up, the 15K gives you the distance to settle into a rhythm while testing your endurance on varied terrain. Both courses give you a taste of what makes Kessler Mountain one of the region’s top racing destinations.
The January timing means cooler temperatures and fewer crowds on the trails, providing ideal conditions for focusing on your race without overheating. You’ll join fellow runners who appreciate trading the predictability of roads for roots, rocks, and the occasional surprise that comes with racing on trails.
Registration stays open through race day, so you can commit when you’re ready. Just remember that winter weather in Arkansas can be unpredictable, so check conditions before you head out and dress in layers you can shed as you warm up on the course.
