This trail run takes participants through some of Devils Den’s best terrain, with all three races starting at 10:00 AM from the pavilion by the pool. Distance options include 3.5 miles, 5.75 miles (labeled as 4.8 on course), and 8.5 miles (labeled as 8.63 on course). The courses wind through Lee Creek Valley, taking runners past the park’s signature rock formations and through forested trails that connect to the Ozark National Forest. Organizers recommend choosing a distance that allows you to finish within two hours. Awards ceremonies kick off at 12:00 PM, or whenever all runners complete their distance.

Online registration closes October 23, but on-site registration will be available race day. T-shirts will only be guaranteed for those who registered by October 10. After expenses, all proceeds benefit the Friends of Devils Den, supporting the preservation and improvement of this historic state park—which is one of the most intact Civilian Conservation Corps sites in the country, with rustic stone and wood structures built in the 1930s.

From seasoned trail runners to first-timers on dirt, Devils Den offers a distance for every skill level. The combination of well-maintained trails, fall scenery, and a supportive community makes this race a highlight of the Arkansas running calendar. Don’t miss out!
