Leash Up and Give Shelter Pups a Shot at Adoption
Spend your morning making a difference in a dog’s life. Big Paws of the Ozarks is bringing together dog lovers and shelter pups for a free Community Pack Walk where you’ll help adoptable dogs work on their leash skills and show off their best selves.

Leash Training With a Purpose
At Springdale Animal Services, you’ll team up with shelter pups to work on leash training using positive reinforcement techniques. The Big Paws team will walk you through the basics of handling skills, and you’ll get hands-on experience with dogs who are working toward their next chapter. Every dog that gets a little extra training and socialization has a better shot at making a great first impression with potential adopters.

Big Paws brings together local shelters, businesses, and community members to strengthen animal welfare across Northwest Arkansas. Their foster-based program rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes dogs in need, and they’ve got experienced trainers to help pups (and their people) succeed. All training proceeds benefit their rescue efforts.

Who Can Join
This event is open to anyone 18 and older. You’ll learn techniques that help these shelter dogs shine, and the Big Paws team provides all the guidance you need. Just remember to leave your own pups at home so all the attention can go to the dogs who need it most.

This is a monthly event happening every first Sunday with rotating shelters, so you can keep coming back to help more dogs.
