Legends Air Center Opens Its Hangar Doors for National Aviation Week

The runway lights are on and the hangar doors are open. This weekend, you can spend an afternoon wandering a working airport just off I Street in Bentonville, something most of us only glimpse through a car window on the way to somewhere else.

The open house celebrates National Aviation Week and honors Louise Thaden, a pioneering aviator. You do not need any flying experience to enjoy it, just some curiosity about what happens on the other side of the runway fence.

What You Can Explore

Step inside the Exhibit Hangar and get up close with a lineup of aircraft on display. If you have ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at your local airport, a guided tour will walk you through how the hub actually operates day to day.

You can also wander through Legends Air Center’s full operation, including the FBO, LAC Flight School, FLY OZ Flying Club, charter services, and scenic and discovery flight options. Staff will be on hand to answer your questions along the way.

FiNiX takes the stage with live music from 5 to 8 PM, and Louise Cafe will have food and drinks available throughout the event. Bring the kids, bring your friends, and give yourself a reason to spend an evening somewhere you usually only pass by on your way to catch a flight.
