What to Expect Ahead
Outback in the Ozarks is Arkansas’ first and only overnight team endurance relay spanning 205 rugged legs through the stunning Ozark National Forest and five state parks. This one-of-a-kind adventure starts in the historic town of Eureka Springs and winds its way through the stunning Ozark National Forest and five state parks, before crossing the finish line at Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park. Teams navigate mostly scenic secondary dirt roads during this overnight challenge that tests strategy, endurance, and teamwork. Each team member runs multiple legs throughout the race, with some sections happening under the cover of darkness as teams push through the night. Between the running, you can expect moments of lake swimming, creating memories with your teammates, and stumbling upon hidden treasures of Arkansas that most people overlook.

The 65-Mile Challenge is a one-day adventure starting Saturday morning with Leg 25 at Lake Fort Smith and finishing with all teams in Prairie Grove. This shorter option allows teams to participate without running overnight while still experiencing the natural beauty and community spirit that defines Northwest Arkansas.
