The story is the one you know: Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, and their crew of Greasers in Tulsa, 1967, caught between class tension and the kind of loyalty that gets people hurt.
Director Danya Taymor, who won her own Tony for this production, went physical with it. The New York Times called her direction “refreshing, gritty, and endlessly effective.” Time Out New York said it’s “more pulse-pounding than anything else on Broadway.”

What to Expect
This is a high-energy show. The choreography is aggressive, the pacing is fast, and the emotional weight sneaks up on you. Baum Walker Hall is a proper full-scale venue, so the staging gets room to breathe.
