Ozark Mountain Music Festival Returns with a Winter-Ready Downtown Takeover

While other music festivals wait for warmer weather, the Ozark Mountain Music Festival takes over Downtown Eureka Springs for four days of indoor performances in the heart of winter. It’s become the go-to event for roots music fans who refuse to let January keep you from catching live shows, and your winter calendar just got a whole lot better.

What Makes OzMoMu Worth the Winter Drive

OzMoMu (as locals call it) has earned its reputation as one of the Midwest’s best winter music festivals by doing what most events won’t: bringing American roots music indoors when the temperature drops. You’ll find multiple stages running simultaneously throughout downtown, which means you can hop from bluegrass to folk to Americana without ever stepping into the cold for long.

The 1905 Basin Park Hotel sponsors the event and serves as a central hub, but music spills out into venues across the historic district including the ballroom, cave, game room, auditorium, and Chelsea’s. This is the festival’s 12th year, so the organizers have the formula down: book talented regional and touring acts, spread them across intimate venues, and let the music do the talking. No massive crowds, no muddy fields—just solid musicianship in spaces where you can actually see and hear the artists.
