NWA Book Fest Kids Gets Its Own Weekend for Year Two

Northwest Arkansas has no shortage of things to do on a Sunday, but June 7th has a compelling case for your family’s calendar. NWA Book Fest Kids is back for year two, and this time it has its own standalone weekend and its own stage. The young readers and writers in your life are about to have a very good day.

The day opens with story times led by Arkansas-based children’s book authors. From there, a rotating lineup of author readings takes over, drawing voices from across the publishing world. Self-published, indie-published, and traditionally published authors spanning multiple genres are all represented.

The Book Market puts you face to face with local publishers, independent bookstores, and authors selling their own work directly. It’s a solid spot to find your family’s next favorite read.

Between the Chapters

Alongside the literary programming, the Maker’s Market brings in local vendors with food, jewelry, and gift items. Plan to spend a few hours, and keep an eye out for additional surprises organizers have teased closer to the date.

Your Kid Could Be in the Next One

Before June 7th even arrives, your child has a shot at the spotlight. The NWA Book Fest Kids Writing Contest is open now, with entries due May 29th. The prompt asks kids to think big: if they had unlimited funds to complete a project in their city, what would they build, grow, or improve? Submit entries to [email protected].
