Where to Get the Best Burgers in NWA

We asked, you answered—and boy, did you deliver. Our Facebook followers came through with the ultimate burger lineup, and let’s just say NWA knows how to stack a patty. From old-school diners that’ve been flipping beef since your grandparents were dating to food trucks serving up Instagram-worthy creations.

As one of our Facebook followers put it, “Never met a hamburger I didn’t like.” Indeed, very rarely can you go wrong, but, you can most certainly go very, very right!

Get your napkins ready for some greasy fingers and a stray tomato here and there as we countdown our picks for the best burgers in NWA.

Hugo’s

📍25 1/2 N. Block Ave., Fayetteville, AR

This basement based business in Block Avenue boasts of belly-beaming burgers and beer brews.

When your burger joint has been a Fayetteville institution since 1977, you’re doing something right. Hugo’s doesn’t mess around with fancy frills—they’re all about that perfect, no-nonsense burger that hits every single time. The secret? Fresh ingredients, a grill that’s seen more action than a soap opera, and portions that’ll make you question whether you really need dinner later.

They use 100% charbroiled Black angus beef, and each order is served with a side of their homemade fries. You can choose whether you want your third pound patty still mooing, well done, or anything in between.

Have your pick of the Traditional Hamburger, Chili Burger, Bleu Moon (bleu cheese, Chili Burger, and more. There’s even a Nature’s Burger with multigrain patties for the slightly health conscious.

Yankabilly Smokehouse

📍327 E Emma Ave., Springdale (inside Mothership Brewhouse)

Shooey! Kickin’ it at number 2 Yankabilly Smokehouse.

If the name wasn’t fun enough, you’ll love their choices of slow-smoked pork and brisket meals. When you order their pulled pork sandwich, you get an option to stuff it full of extra cheeses, veggies, and sauces. We mean it; their side menu is no joke!

Leave it to a place called “Yankabilly” to perfectly capture the beautiful chaos of NWA’s cultural mashup. This gem brings together the best of barbecue know-how with burger brilliance, creating something that’s part Southern comfort, part Midwest hearty. Their burger game is strong enough to make you forget they’re also slinging some of the region’s best smoked meats—which is saying something around these parts.

Options include melt-in-your-mouth brisket burgers, mac and cheese burgers, and even some banana pudding for that sweet tooth. Share the love with their family meals, and make sure your sandwiches aren’t the only thing that’s stuffed!
