9th Annual Downtown Duck Race Sends Rubber Ducks Racing Down Spring Creek

Your rubber duck could earn a Springdale classroom a boost this year. The Springdale Public Schools Education Foundation is bringing back its Downtown Duck Race, and proceeds fund grants for local classrooms.

How Your Duck Helps a Classroom

When you buy a duck, you get to earmark it for a specific teacher, school, or program. If your duck finishes in the top 10, that teacher, school, or program wins a $1,000 Classroom Enrichment and Innovation grant to spend on classroom materials or a project of their choosing. If you don’t have a favorite in mind, SPSEF will assign your duck to a school for you, so every entry still counts toward the cause.

Cheer From the Square or the Screen

You can watch the race unfold live along Spring Creek at Turnbow Park, as the ducks float downstream toward the finish line, or tune into the live stream if you can’t make it to Shiloh Square in person. Either way, you’ll see whose duck crosses the finish line first and which classrooms walk away with a grant to use during the year.
