Family Bike Rides in Bentonville End at an Ice Cream Counter

Getting your whole family out on bikes takes a plan, and the hardest part is usually agreeing on where to go. Bike School Bentonville and Phat Tire Bike Shop have that part handled on the second Sunday of every month through October.

Nobody Gets Dropped on This One

Three to four miles at a casual pace, no racing involved. Some months the route hops onto green mountain bike trails, the easiest rating out there, which is about as forgiving as dirt gets for a first timer. It’s a low key introduction to Bentonville’s trail system if you’ve never known where to start. A bike, a helmet, and water are all you need to bring.

Superfine Sweet Shop Takes the August Stop

The August ride finishes at Superfine Sweet Shop. Clementine’s Creamery takes September 13, and Spark Cafe closes the season on October 11.

Earlier in the season the group hit Spark Cafe on April 12 and July 12, Trash Creamery on May 10, and Dumont Creamery on June 14. Spark Cafe takes three of the seven, more than any other stop on the calendar.

Beat the Group to the Parking Lot

Show up a few minutes early so the group can head out on time. Kids need a parent along for the whole ride, so this is one you do together rather than drop off. After that, the hardest decision left is a flavor.
