Cuddle Up Under the Stars for Movies in Fayetteville Parks This Summer

Here’s a fun, unique NWA experience. Snuggle up in the park for your favorite family movies and cult classics in a theater under the stars!

This summer the City of Fayetteville will present Movies in the Parks, a series of outdoor film screenings, in partnership with the Arkansas Cinema Society.

This collaboration will bring four exciting movie nights to Fayetteville, offering the community an opportunity to enjoy classic films under the stars at Walker Park and Bryce Davis Park.

The screenings are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic baskets to enhance their outdoor movie experience.

The film screening schedule is as follows with all beginning at 8 p.m.:

Friday, June 7, at Walker Park: 10th anniversary screening of “Valley Inn”

Fayetteville-produced, heartwarming independent film about Emily, a New Jersey college student who unexpectedly finds herself in a small Southern town. Through misadventures and endearing friendships with quirky residents, Emily learns valuable life lessons at the Valley Inn. This film is a love letter to small-town America.

Friday, July 12, at Bryce Davis Park: “The Land Before Time”

In this animated classic, an orphaned brontosaurus named Littlefoot embarks on a journey to find the legendary Great Valley – a lush oasis where dinosaurs can thrive and live in peace. Along the way, he befriends other young dinosaurs, faces obstacles and learns valuable lessons about teamwork and survival.

Friday, Aug. 9, at Bryce Davis Park: “Back to the Future”

High school student Marty McFly accidentally travels back in time to 1955 using a plutonium-powered DeLorean time machine. Marty’s mission: ensure his teenage parents-to-be meet and fall in love, so he can return to the future. 

Date TBD at Walker Park: “Coal Miner’s Daughter” (with live music!)

This Oscar-winning biographical drama tells the story of singer Loretta Lynn, who rose from poverty to superstardom, capturing challenges and triumphs along the way. This screening is planned to feature music from the film performed live at 7 p.m. before the screening.
