What Your Kid Will Be Doing
This year’s theme is “Growing Together,” and TrailMix takes that idea seriously. Each day draws a connection between what kids observe on the trail and how they show up for one another. Your child might spot signs of life along a morning hike, then turn that into a group conversation about how ecosystems depend on each other and what that looks like in real life.

Days are spent in a small group setting, which means your kid gets actual attention from the people running the program. At least two leaders are present for every session.
The People Running It
Katharine Arburn, Board President, holds training as a school counselor and certified K–6 teacher, with a background in crisis counseling and health care coordination. Hallie Hannaman, Vice President, has spent over a decade in banking and leadership. Helen Barker, Director of Social Media, is a provisionally licensed social worker who pulls creativity into her work with kids. Sarah McNeal, a Fayetteville native, has managed education partnerships across 13 states covering more than 51,000 students.
Before You Register
Camp runs as a drop-off program. If your child has specific needs, TrailMix encourages you to reach out directly. Send them with a water bottle, closed-toe shoes, and a small snack each day. A full packing list goes out to families closer to the start date.

Cancellations made by June 1st qualify for a 50% refund. After that date, refunds may not be available. Spots are limited, so locking in your registration now is worth doing sooner rather than later.
