You can surely expect chaos, comedy, and a whole lot of stubbornness. The 36th Annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump brings together handlers, their stubborn mules, and a crowd ready to laugh. Last year, more than 6,000 people showed up from places as far as Minnesota and Oregon. This year, you’re invited to join the fun.

This year’s Pea Ridge Mule Jump features more than 40 mules competing for over $4,000 in prize money, attempting to clear burlap barriers that reach up to 6½ feet high. The catch? Mules are notoriously stubborn animals who would rather do just about anything other than jump. Watching handlers try every trick to convince their mules to cooperate is half the fun.

There’s plenty more to explore once you’re there. Nearly 100 vendors will fill the grounds with food trucks, craft booths, and Ozark-made gifts. A classic car show brings vintage rides and car lovers together, while kids can burn off energy with a stick horse race and a hog calling contest.

Making a weekend of it? The Courtyard by Marriott Bentonville is offering a Mule Jump rate of $99 per night from October 9–12. Your mule can stay for free.

Bring your family, your friends, and your patience for stubborn mules. We’ll see you in Pea Ridge.
