After reeling off 8 straight wins, there is once again plenty of excitement for the Razorback Men’s Basketball program. Some students who were found camping out the day before the big game got a surprise visit from head coach, Eric Musselman.

After receiving the 2nd most votes outside of the top 25, an upset against the #1 ranked Tigers would catapult them back into the top 25, and perhaps into the 15 with another win on Saturday.

The Tigers play a style of basketball similar to what would regularly be seen in Fayetteville back in the 90’s. They like to play with swarming defense and attack on fast breaks. They feature one of the leagues top big men in Walker Kessler, solid shooters on the outside and great guard play.

Still, it can be argued that Auburn’s schedule has helped them thus far. In fact, Auburn has only played against 2 teams currently in the top 25 and are 1 -1 in those games.

While Arkansas may not be a top 25 team at the moment, they have certainly played like one the past few weeks.

Keys To The Game

For Arkansas to win, they will need to continue their tenacious defensive play and hit some shots. The Razorbacks have struggled most of the season to make outside shots and have made their living in the paint. That could present a problem tonight as Auburn is one of the best shot blocking teams in the country.

However, there’s no question that players like JD Notae, Stanley Umude and Chris Lykes can light it up from downtown. In fact, everyone on the roster has shown that they have the ability to contribute from the outside as well.

Besides, if there is a single coach in America who we can trust to scheme a game plan to score the ball inside against their shot blockers, our money is on Musselman everyday of the week.

Arkansas seems to be finding their rhythm at the time. That, along with nearly 20k rabid fans in attendance tonight may just give the Razorbacks what they need to pull off the upset.

Our Prediction: Arkansas 76 – Auburn 72
