Two Sommeliers Converted Their Bedroom Into Bentonville’s Best Wine Shop

Paulo Piraino and Yulia Batalina didn’t lease a storefront. They took the ground-floor bedroom of their Southwest B Street townhome, pulled out the furniture, and turned it into a wine shop. The Cellar on B St fits maybe three customers at a time — and that’s exactly the point.

A Wine Culture Mission That Started Before the Shop

Before opening the retail space, the married couple ran a wine and dinner pairing company in Northwest Arkansas. The Cellar on B St is the next step in that same project: building a genuine wine culture in a region they’ve clearly committed to. Both owners are certified sommeliers, which means when you ask for a recommendation, you’re getting an actual answer, and not just a shrug toward whatever’s on sale.

Small Producers, Specialty Pairings, and Nothing You’ve Seen at Walmart

The selection focuses on sustainably made wines from small, independent producers. Alongside the bottles, you’ll find specialty foods built for pairing — cheeses, chocolates, olive oils, and jams. The limited hours are intentional; stopping in feels less like a shopping errand and more like catching something while it lasts.
