Art of Home Opens Four Private Homes Across Northwest Arkansas

Four private homes between Fayetteville and Bentonville open their doors for one weekend, and the art inside stays right where it lives. Turns out a painting hits different when it’s hanging over somebody’s actual couch!

The second annual Art of Home NWA Tour of Homes comes from MIXD Gallery and At Home in Arkansas, and it lives where art, architecture, and everyday life share an address. Each of the four homes takes its own approach to living with art, so no two stops play out the same.

Home Is Where the Art Is: 11 Artists on the Walls

Eleven artists make up this year’s tour:

  • Abigail Henthorne
  • Anne Fletcher
  • Craig Colorusso
  • Derrick Breidenthal
  • Flora Saldivar
  • Hal Hardin
  • Henry O. Head
  • Lauren Elder
  • Marc Mitchell
  • Selena Beaudry
  • Vincent Edwards

Four Homes, Any Order You Like

The tour is self-guided, so you’re behind the wheel. Pick any home as your first stop and hit the rest in whatever order suits you. Your packet waits at that first stop with your ticket, your wristband, and a tour catalogue, so you’ll always know whose work is on the wall in front of you.

Can’t decide how to pace it? Knock out all four homes in one day, or spread them across the weekend with friends and fit lunch and a little shopping in between.

Shoe Covers Are the Dress Code

These are real people’s real homes, so a few house rules apply:

  • Shoe covers – provided at the door, worn inside
  • Food and drink – they stay outside
  • Event staff – follow their lead at every stop

Your Ticket Helps Someone Get Home

Ticket sales benefit New Beginnings NWA, a nonprofit working to end chronic homelessness in Northwest Arkansas. The program offers safe, supportive housing to people who have experienced long-term homelessness or face complex barriers to getting housed again, and it supports their well-being as whole people.

You’re touring homes to support people finding one, which is a pretty good trade for a weekend.

See you there, NWA.
