Jones Center Turns North Community Park into a Family Campsite

Sleeping outside with your kids sounds simple until you’re wrestling with tent poles in the dark and someone’s already asking where the marshmallows are. Pick Your Campsite

Now in its third year, Community Campout gives your group a site that holds up to six people. When you register, you can choose a 2-person, 4-person, or 6-person tent, or bring your own gear if you’d rather. Reservations go while supplies last. Either way, Jones Center staff will be on hand to help you pitch your tent and settle in for the night.

Learn Something New By Firelight

Education pop-ups run throughout the evening, covering wilderness survival basics, nature exploration, and hands-on kids’ crafts. It’s your chance to pick up a new skill with your family before the sun goes down.

Eat, Play, and Unwind

Dinner covers hotdogs and hamburgers with all the toppings, plus chips and sodas, and dessert means building your own s’mores over the campfire. Breakfast the next morning brings a yogurt bar with fruit and muffins. Between meals, you can dig into campfire cooking, live music, outdoor games, and a late-night movie under the stars, then start Saturday with a group yoga session for the whole family.

Rest Easy

You’ll camp in a fenced-in area on the west side of the Jones Center campus, with security on-site around the clock. On-site restrooms and easy parking and unloading keep getting in and out with your gear simple.

What to Pack

Campsites come with tents and food, but the rest is on you. Bring a lawn chair, your bedding, and anything else that makes a night outdoors comfortable for your crew.
