Monarch Flight Festival Wings Its Way Into Downtown Springdale

Monarch butterflies travel thousands of miles every year, riding a corridor from Canada and the United States down to the mountain forests of Michoacán, Mexico. You get a front row seat to that migration, no passport required.

Winging It

You’ll meet environmental and conservation groups from across the region leading hands-on activities, demonstrations, and interactive learning stations, with arts and crafts and other family activities mixed in. Your kids get first crack at thousands of free monarch wings, while supplies last, before the parade begins.

Float Like a Butterfly

The festival’s signature event is the Monarch Flight Parade, with food, music, performances, and storytelling woven through the day. You’ll see the lands, cultures, and communities connected to the monarch’s route come to life along the way.

The Downtown Springdale Alliance hosts the festival, with presenting support from the Walmart Foundation, and brings it back every year so you can catch the migration’s return through Northwest Arkansas.
